Narin & Portnoo
Narin & Portnoo Golf Club, is situated in the beautiful seaside village of Narin in southwest Donegal. Enjoying sweeping views over Gweebarra Bay this friendly golf club is regarded as one of the finest natural and scenic 18-hole links courses in Ireland.
Opened in 1930, it is endearingly old-fashioned, with a meandering route over and around the large sand dunes that border Narin Blue Flag Beach. The course was re-developed and extended in recent years and the new par 73 layout offers a range of teeing areas and challenges to suit all golfers.
It is certainly a course that suits a shotmaker. You need to draw the ball around the sharp dog-legs, hit crisp iron shots to par 3's and manufacture low trajectory shots into the wind. The traditional bump and run shots over the mounds is a favourite for the members.
